Bulldog Temperament Bulldog originates from Great Britain, and has a long history, now reigning as the national symbol of Great Britain. These dogs have been used for many purposes over the years, from guarding and hunting to baiting and fighting. The breed was registered with the AKC in 1934.
The Bulldog is a gentle, easy going, and affectionate dog, with a wonderful nature, a comical outlook on life, and a really entertaining personality. The Shih Tzu is one of the most hairy breeds of dog. It has a dense and long double coat and belongs to the Toy category of breeds. The texture of the undercoat is wooly and soft but however they are mild shedders.
This breed often called ‘small lion’ comes from Tibet and is mostly found in China. The love spending time with their families and get along well with other pets and older children. They are confident and alert and make perfect watchdogs. They are not the ones who like to be aloof and tend to get destructive if left alone for a long span of time.
The Shih Tzu is difficult to train but is a quick learner. It can often act arrogant and may cause problems when undergoing training. They like to be treated royally and are not good to small children who have a habit of bothering pets.
Their coat needs to be groomed on a regular basis and should be brushed regularly to avoid knots. They are vulnerable to kidney diseases and slipping kneecaps. Just like every other breed they should be taken for regular walks else they tend to gain weight. They are also prone to snoring and wheezing problems and dental hygiene is necessary to prevent tooth lost.

Daschund is one of those breeds of dog that has almost all the qualities a person would want in his pet. Daschund is available in three varieties: the standard, the miniature, and the toy. So you can choose the size according to your life style.
Daschund as pets are great to live with. They form perfect watchdogs and are a playful breed. They love their owner and a mildly protective. However, children need to be taught to not be rough with the dog else it may cause problems. They do well with mature and considerate children.
This breed comes in three different varieties as well: short-haired, wired-haired, and long-haired. They have a longer life span as compared to most of the other breeds. They have a beautiful body and the stand out characteristic of this breed is that they love to borrow holes. They were called Tachs Krieger, meaning badger catcher. They love to hunt for badgers and rabbits. They come from Germany and have reference in the history to Ancient Egypt.
The Daschund does not need a lot of exercise and does well in a home with a small yard. If you buy a long haired or a wirehaired Daschund then make sure that you brush and trim the coat regularly.
However, the Daschunds do not tolerate a rough behavior and may snap or even bite if they are not treated well. They have a mind of their own and are hard to train. They are not timid and get aggressive at the slightest movements or sounds. They have huge lungs and hence their barking is intimidating for many other animals.
Daschunds are known to have back troubles and should not be picked up and dropped roughly as it may hurt their backs. This breed also has an odor that repels a lot of people. In to this they are heavy shedders. So you need to give it a proper cleaning on a regular basis.
They form great travelers and are the ideal breed if you are looking to travel or make a journey in a car.

With the introduction of this new breed of dog, the list of apartment dogs will further be lengthened. The Basset Hound is one of the most active breeds you’ll come across. It also proves to be a great pet to live with in an apartment.
Unlike other hounds, the Basset Hound is not very tall and comes from France. This breed has great hunting characteristics and can prove to be good watchdogs. It is said that the Basset Hound is a descendent of St. Hubert’s Hound which has features like the bloodhound. These dwarfed creatures however have a laid back temperament.
They have brown, sunken eyes and extremely long ears. Although the Basset Hound is an intelligent breed but can get tough to train because they at times are very stubborn. At times they need a lot of encouragement to be active and playful. They should be taken for regular walks and the diet should be controlled else they overeat and gain weight.
The have a friendly nature and love their family. They are not timid and has the attitude of a king. Like other hounds they have a strong sense of smell and once they pick up a scent it is hard to distract them. They have a smooth coat with short hair. It does not need to be shampooed every day and a little combing and brushing should keep him fine.
The bassets are heavy shedders though and one should be prepared for this before buying a basset hound. It is also necessary to clean under the ears else they are vulnerable to ear diseases.
They are good with children and love playing with them. In America the Basset Hound is a known breed and this sharp breed of dog has also been featured on the cover of Time magazine in 1928.
